Here there's always been one unusual animal: the alpaca. These animals find their ideal habitat in the wooded areas and the olive groves. Extremely gentle and tame, they live in the meadows and feed on grass. Alpacas are known mainly for their soft wool, which is processed and used to create warm and fluffy garments, made exclusively by hand. A couple of years ago, new enclosures were built - covering 5000 square metres - to accommodate chickens - Naked Necks and Piedmontese Blond - and Muscovy ducks.
